About this role

We’re seeking an experienced Rig Geologist to oversee geological logging and sampling during a short-term Reverse Circulation (RC) drilling program. The role involves direct rig supervision, ensuring accurate geological data capture, and maintaining high standards of sample quality, safety, and compliance.

You’ll work closely with field assistants and the senior exploration team to ensure the program runs efficiently and delivers high-quality geological information.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Supervise RC drilling operations, including sampling, recovery, and QA/QC
  2. Conduct lithological, alteration, and mineralisation logging
  3. Manage sample dispatch, chain-of-custody, and data entry
  4. Liaise with drillers and exploration management to achieve daily targets
  5. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards
  6. Support reporting and daily progress updates


Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Earth Sciences
  2. Proven experience as a Rig or Field Geologist on RC drilling programs
  3. Strong understanding of geological logging, sampling, and QA/QC
  4. Competent with Excel and/or logging software (e.g. LogChief, Geobank)
  5. Current manual driver’s licence and remote field experience
  6. Excellent communication and organisational skills
