Anaesthetist

About the Role:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Anaesthetist to join a modern private day surgery located in Western Sydney. This role is suited to either a locum specialist available for sessional work or a permanent consultant looking to establish regular lists in a well-supported environment.

You’ll work across a range of day procedures including general surgery, endoscopy, ophthalmology, ENT, plastics, and minor orthopaedics, collaborating with experienced surgeons and perioperative staff to ensure safe, efficient patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Deliver safe and effective anaesthetic care across a variety of day procedures
2. Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments and manage post-operative recovery as required
3. Collaborate closely with surgical, nursing, and recovery teams
4. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, clinical documentation, and accreditation standards
5. Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives within the day surgery

Requirements:

1. FANZCA or equivalent specialist qualification in anaesthesia
2. Current AHPRA Specialist Registration
3. Proven experience in a private hospital or day surgery environment
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills
5. Commitment to high-quality patient care and clinical governance
